Fares explained

 

ADVANCE - Fixed Time ticket

Booking: Single tickets available up to 12 weeks in advance, must be booked before travel date. Subject to availability.

  • Validity: Only valid on the time and date shown on ticket

  • Reservations: Raileasy will reserve seats for each leg of your journey subject to availability.

  • Refunds: Non refundable but amendable before the booked date & time

Amendments: If you need to change your travel date, you can rebook the same journey before the departure of the first train and then claim a refund for the original tickets. Please note that a £10 admin fee applies, and refund claims must be submitted before the train's departure."


Please note:
1. All amendments (re-booking and claiming a refund on the originals) must be made prior to the original departure date and time.
2. It is not possible to replace one journey with multiple journeys, nor is it possible to replace multiple journeys with one journey.
 


 

OFF PEAK & SUPER OFF PEAK - Flexible tickets, valid on non-peak services

Booking: Single and return tickets available on or before the day of travel.

  • Validity: Outward or single: Restricted to off peak or super off peak trains, times and routes on the date shown on ticket. Return: Restricted to off peak and super off peak trains, times and routes, validity may vary but generally valid for one calendar month of the outward.

  • Reservations: Not compulsory.

  • Refunds: Refundable if submitted wholly unused within 28 days of the travel date. Subject to £10.00 admin fee regardless of whether the journey is amended/ rebooked. You have up to 28 days from the date on the ticket to claim the refund.

 

Amendments: If the date of travel is to be changed then cancel the ticket and re-book. It is often cheaper to re-book the entire journey and obtain a refund on the original tickets. Refund will be subject to £10.00 admin fee and any difference in fare. Refund claims must be raised within 28 days of date on ticket for a single or within 28 days the original return date for return tickets

 

Refunding a half used flexible return ticket? Please read the rules below:

Full refund less a GBP10.00 admin fee if wholly unused and if submitted within 28 days of the expiry date of the ticket.

If the return portion is used no refund may be given on the outward portion.

If the outward portion is used, a refund on the Return portion is calculated based on the amount that remains after the deduction of the equivalent single fare.

*PLEASE NOTE Single fare plus GBP10.00 admin fee is often more than expensive than a return fare so in most instances no refund will given on part-used tickets.


 

ANYTIME - Maximum flexibility tickets

Booking: Single and return tickets available on or before the day of travel.

  • Validity: Outward or Single: Valid any time on the date shown on ticket or including up to five days later or for one month* (*variable). Return: Valid any time on the date shown on ticket or up to one month of the outward*

  • Reservations: Not compulsory.

  • Refunds: Refundable if submitted wholly unused within 28 days of expiry date. Subject to GBP 10.00 admin fee
