London Overground operates rail services in and around London, providing connections to the London Underground and the rest of the National Rail main line network.

London Overground is enjoying continued investments into it's service in preparation for the London 2012 Olympics; these improvements will greatly improve service and benefit all local London communities.
 

London Overground Routes

The London Overground route stretches from Watford Junction in the North West, to Croydon in the South and from Barking in the East of London all the way to Richmond and Wandsworth in the South West and West. By 2012 TFL plan to provide London Overground travel in 20 of the 33 London Boroughs, with 30% of the population within 15 minutes walking distance of a London Overground station. London Overground runs services along the following routes:

    * Dalston Junction to West Croydon
    * Dalston Junction to Highbury & Islington
    * Watford Junction to Euston
    * Clapham Junction to Surrey Quays
    * Richmond/Clapham Junction to Stratford
    * Gospel Oak to Barking
 

About London Overground

London Overground is a surburban rail service owned by Transport for London, recently many new, high tech, fully air conditioned trains have been put into service across the entire network. The Extended East London Line is now open; it will pass from operation under London Underground to London Overground, four new stations have been opened following the extension of the East London Line: Haggerston, Shoreditch High Street, Hoxton and Dalston Junction. The London Overground was formerly known as Silverlink Metro.

 

London Overground and the Olympics

The north London line (Stratford - Richmond) will serve the Olympic Park, situated in East London during the London 2012 Olympics, as part of the Olympic Transport Plan. Increased service, quicker journey times, improved stations and more high tech, air conditioned trains will mean travelling in, around and across London will be a much more enjoyable experience, just in time for the 2012 Olympics.
