Midland Mainline is now East Midlands Trains.
East Midlands Trains services are now offering high-speed links between London and the Midlands.
East Midlands Trains is part of Stagecoach Group plc, which also operates South West Trains, Sheffield Supertram and Manchester Metrolink – plus bus services in the UK and the US.
Originally Midland Mainline operated high speed train services along the M1 corridor from South Yorkshire and the East Midlands to London St. Pancras.
East Midlands Trains employed roughly 1,000 people. As a company focused on customers, the majority of staff are employed in a customer service roles, either on train, at station or in the ticket office.
East Midlands Trains operate up to 100 train services each day comprising a fleet of high speed trains which are configured of eight carriages with a locomotive engine at each end
Meridian Trains - seven 8-carriages, seven 5-carriages and nine 4-carriages. These trains were purpose built for East Midlands Trains. To ensure East Midlands Trains are kept to the highest standard they have depots to perform maintenance 24 hours a day.
