First Capital Connect is a train operating company that provides passenger train services from London all the way up to the Norfolk wash at Kings Lynn train station, right down to the South coast calling at Brighton train station. First Capital Connect provide rail connections from a total of 15 London train stations including London Kings Cross train station, Victoria train station, Paddington train station, Euston train station, St Pancras Intl train station (for trains to Europe via the EUROSTAR) and Waterloo train station. First Capital Connect also provide direct rail connections to Gatwick airport train station and Luton airport train station.

 

First Capital Connect train operating company are owned by the First Group, the First Group own four other train operating companies in the UK: First TransPennine, First ScotRail, First Hull Trains and First Great Western.

 

First Capital Connect operate along two major train lines known as the East Coast Mainline, linking Bedford and Brighton station to London train stations and the Great Northern train line, linking Cambridge train station, Peterborough train station and Kings Lynn train station to London train stations. Before the First Capital Connect Franchise these train lines were operated by the Thameslink railway and WAGN. First Capital Connect train operating company has been in operation since 2006.

 

First Capital Connect is currently working in partnership with Southern train operating company, Southeastern train operating company and Transport for London, to improve services and train stations in and around London as part of the Thameslink Programme.
