East Coast Trains History
East Coast Mainline services are currently state owned, the east coast mainline franchise was previously managed by National Express, and was known as National Express East Coast, this was preceded by GNER (Great North Eastern Railway) which was owned by Sea Containers Ltd.
East Coast Routes
- East Coast operates fast, frequent passenger rail services on the flagship East Coast Main Line between London King's Cross, the East Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East of England and Scotland.
- East Coast operates rail services from London running as far north as Inverness and Aberdeen.
- East coast manage the UK's premier intercity train service which links the capital cities of England and Scotland and many other regional and historic cities in between.
- The cities served by East Coast include: Leeds, Newcastle, York, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.
East Coast European Connections
East Coast runs services from London Kings Cross station, which is linked to London St Pancras, providing excellent links to Europe via the Eurostar, including straight trains to the cities of Brussels, Lille and Paris.

East Coast has a reputation for quality dining and the food served on board is locally sourced, British food, where possible. Breakfast and supper are served on selected trains. First class passengers may enjoy:

First Class East Coast Lounges
First class lounges are located at: London Kings Cross, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh Waverley, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster. First class advance ticket holders must purchase a supplement ticket.
