Frankfurt has been a venue for trade fare since 1240, one of the oldest in the world hosting over 50 trade fairs each year. Some of the most popular include, The Automechanika for autmobile accesories and parts, The Amiente showcasing interior design, and The Frankfurt Book fair.
WÄLDCHESTAG
Wäldchestag is a celebration of Frankfurt’s people and their way of life, a public holiday on the Tuesday after Whitsun; adults leave work from midday to join in with the centuries old celebrations. The fair or Forest day is held in Am Oberforsthaus the Frankfurt City Forest.
FOLK FAIRS
Springdippmess in the largest folk festival in the Rhine-Main region, they will be a host of fun attractions to get involved with over nearly a whole month in spring in Festplatz (Fairground) on
Ratsweg. Mainfest is a traditional folk festival held in the summer, with carousels, fair ground, rides and much more. The festival opens with live music from The Römer, with the Fountain of justice being turned into a fountain of wine. The festival culminates in a massive fireworks display.
