SPEICHERSTADT, the warehouse district is a good place to explore while in Hamburg, either to admire the pretty classic Wilhelminian gothic architecture or to visit the Hamburg Dungeon.  The Hamburg dungeon takes you on a visually informative ride through the darker side of Hamburg’s history from the floods of 1717 to the Great Plague, not for the faint hearted!

The DICHTOR exhibition halls are two of the most beautiful spaces in the whole of Europe, a stunning environment to view artwork; previous exhibitors include Warhol and Liechtenstein, stop by to check out the latest exhibition.

St Michael’s church, affectionately referred to by the locals as “Michel” is Hamburg’s most well known landmark, up the 453 steps of the church is a viewing platform where you can admire the whole city.

Green Spaces
Alster Lake and the surrounding Alster Park is the social hub for hanseatic citizens, used for jogging, water sports, meetings and picnics.  Take a leisurely walk around the lake, or a round boat trip and admire at why this residential area is one of the most sought after locations is Hamburg.  Do as the locals do and enjoy an “Alsterwasser” (Hamburg local beer with lemonade) in one of the many bars.  Travelling with children? Then head to the cities playground, Stadtpark, the city’s municipal park which is filled with swings, pools and all sorts of playground rides to keep the young ones entertained.
