A free coach shuttle will deliver you from the festival's closest rail station Castle Cary to the festival bus station (only if you have a festival ticket!) This coach shuttle will run from Wednesday morning to Monday evening, and will coincide with the train timetable (so will not run through the night). Plus, this year we’ve increased the fleet so you will get to the site quicker and start the revelries sooner.
The festival is also running a transfer service from Bristol Temple Meads station which you simply pay for on the day. Four trains every hour leave London Paddington for Bristol Temple Meads, and one train every hour leaves for Castle Cary - but there'll be extra services run over the Glastonbury weekend.
So it seems that if you're going to the Glastonbury Festival from London, it's worth checking out trains to Bristol and getting the coach which could save you time & money but remember to book before the day of travel otherwise you could be in for a shock. Fares on the day of departure could be in excess of £100 return.
