SCHÜTZENFEST
The Hannover Schützenfest is held in the summer and is the largest festival of its kind, dating back from the 17th century the Schützenfest is held over 10 days at the Hannover fairground, the largest fairground in the world, including the largest parade of rifleman in the world.  The 12km parade includes carriages, marksmen, vehicles, locals and tourists.  The fairground combines old with modern, from rides utilising the latest in cutting edge technology, to the more traditional, loved favourites; the centre piece of the fairground is the giant Ferris wheel the biggest transportable Ferris wheel in the world.
