Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium was opened in 1924 by King George V on 24th April originally known as the Empire Exhibition.In 1966 England won the world cup final against West Germany the only time England has won the World Cup and to do it at Wembley made it even more special.The structure of the stadium remained essentially the same since 1924 but the old stadium struggled to meet the demands of sports fans when it was decided to close in 2000 and the new Wembley built.With a new capacity of 90,000 Wembley Stadium is the largest in Britain.Hosting all the major football matches including FA Cup semi finals and final, England Internationals as well as Football League Play Off matches.It will also be utilised by some of the biggest names in music as an amazing concert venue with the new design it reduces noise spillage from the stadium.
